About 6,000 years ago something that was as amazing as it was illogical occurred on planet Earth. An advanced, culturally complex and intelligent human culture sprang full-blown into recorded history. Without passing through more primitive stages of evolution, trial and error, and slow-growing learning, Sumeria started its existence already formed and set in its ways. The Sumerians themselves wrote, as they were suddenly able to do, that they did not develop their culture themselves but were merely the inheritors of what was given them by their "Lords," ancient, long-lived beings whose very name, Annunaki, translates as "Those who from the heavens came down." They credit the creation of human civilization, human knowledge, and, in fact, humans themselves, to alien beings who came from another planet.

There are few people on Earth who have the knowledge to read and translate the cuneiform writing of these ancient people. Of the handful, it is impossible to avoid the work of Zecharia Sitchin. The great controversy surrounding his work is not his translations of the Sumerian texts but his interpretation of them. Sitchen views the words as being literal; for instance, when they say a "god" came to visit a temple he interprets it that "someone" did show up. He does not second-guess the meaning of an author 6,000 years ago and say they were only speaking metaphorically.

With the knowledge we can learn from these ancient people, we can begin to see a pattern develop that gives good indication for these literal interpretations. The Sumerians considered Earth the seventh planet, as their alien "gods" referred to it for being the seventh planet in towards the sun with Pluto being the first, Uranus the second, etc. That these ancient people knew of these outer planets without the aid of telescopes indicates someone from the outside had informed them. Our own science did not "rediscover" Pluto until 1930.

Another concept the Sumerians retold from their alien gods was that the Earth and the Moon were created as we know them today from a collision between two planets that had been thrown together because of the gravitational disturbance of the passage of their own planet, Nibiru, when it was first captured by our Sun. Until recently, this idea had been scoffed at but new studies indicate that this is a most likely reality. Two sources of further study can be found at: the June, 2000 edition of "Spatium" the magazine of the International Space Science Institute, and in a recent article from ScienceDaily.com on June, 7, 2010. Again, ancient people without advanced technology knew of a thing we are only beginning to find proof of.

The Sumerian aliens stated they had sent a mining colony to Earth over 400,000 years ago. That there were spacefaring beings on the planet so long ago could help explain the existence of so many of the mysterious Out Of Place Artifacts in Relation to Time and Space (OOPARTS) that have confused and confounded the "academically established" order of human evolution.

The ancient Sumerian texts also state that these aliens grew tired of working the mines themselves and commissioned their genetic scientists to create a "worker class" from indigenous beings. Of the various species of homo erectus available for manipulation, Neanderthal man has been shown to be related to us, homo sapiens sapiens. There has yet to be discovered the mysterious "missing link" that connects the two lines together. Could that be because the "link" is the product of an alien genetics laboratory rather than the slow process nature takes to evolve a species?

According to the Sumerians, the aliens finally left Earth so their "creations" could develop on their own. There is, however, the caveat that they would return sometime to see how well that experiment worked. This is the basis of many modern religions. It also gives rise to the question of whether or not the aliens left representatives behind to watch the development of man. Are they still watching or have they over the centuries taken a more direct, although hidden, hand in the affairs of humanity? And through all this is the question, "What will happen when/if these ancient Sumerian aliens DO come back to reestablish their rule over a planet and a species they may feel they own by right of having been here long before us?

We will be investigating these and many more questions about the Annunaki as time progresses.

For decades we have had to deal with the military's, and especially the Air Force's, assurances that craft of unknown origin, unknown abilities, and unknown agendas have been invading our airspace and yet present "no threat to National Security." The very illogic of that recurring statement leads to the conclusion that either our military is led by uncomprehending idiots or we, the people, are not considered worthy and are being lied to like undeserving children. A change may be coming that will force real information from those who have determined to withhold it.

On Monday, September the 27th, 2010, the National Press Club will be host to a news conference involving six former Air Force personnel ready to share their own first-hand witnessing of incidences where these UFO's have approached nuclear weapons sites and often disrupted and caused malfunctions among stockpiles of these critical Weapons of Mass Destruction.

The conference is being co-hosted by the author of, "UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites," Robert Hastings, and ICBM launch officer Capt. Robert Salas, USAF ret., at the time Deputy Missile Combat Crew Commander, who witnessed the March 24th, 1967 UFO incidence at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, where a number of ballistic missiles were disrupted and rendered inoperable.

Also scheduled to appear and reveal eyewitness accounts and documentation they were ordered to keep concealed from the people of this world will be USAF Lt. Colonel Dwynne Arneson, ret. who was the Officer in Charge at Malmstrom AFB that day when a UFO rendered twenty Minuteman I missiles inert in their launch silos. Also at Malmstrom that day was Capt. Robert Jamison, the Combat Targeting Team Commander, who's duties included having to repair the stricken missiles. He states that he had been briefed about the UFO before being sent out on his repair mission.

The UFO's had been interested in Malmstrom AFB for some time. Intelligence Command Master Chief Patrick McDonough, US Navy ret., will be recounting his 1966 encounter with a disk-shaped UFO hovering over a newly constructed missile silo even before the weapon had been installed. In fleeing the scene, his vehicle was involved in a crash. The responding Montana State Policeman mentioned having received nearly 20 civilian reports of UFO's that night.

Colonel Charles Halt, USAF ret., is also to be at the press conference Monday. Col Halt was the Deputy Base Commander at the joint English-American RAF Bentwaters AFB in December of 1980 during the Rendlesham Forest encounter. He was in charge of the ground pursuit the second night and witnessed a disk-shaped UFO directing beams of light at the nuclear weapons storage bunker, lights those inside reported as passing right through the ceiling and walls to cause malfunction of the electrical circuitry of the nuclear bombs kept there.

From an even different occurrence, 1st Lt. Jerry Nelson, USAF ret., will be discussing his experiences as an Atlas-F missile launch officer at Walker AFB in New Mexico during 1964. On a half dozen occasions over the space of a month or more a UFO had been spotted hovering over the launch capsules of Site 9. On one occasion a beam of light was directed from the craft onto the missiles, frightening the security guards on duty to protect it from, at least Earthly, threats.

There are reasons these men have had to wait nearly fifty years until the latter part of their lives to speak out. The military enforces strong non-disclosure orders to personnel witnessing UFO's. These men still face the possibility of martyrdom or imprisonment for revealing what they have been ordered to keep quiet. The National Press Club is a well-respected public forum. With the conference still some days away, we can but hope there are no "skiing accidents" among the scheduled participants and that what we will hear from them will be a glimmer of the truth about just what the people of this planet actually face in regards to these mysterious invaders of our skies.

Throughout the latter half of the 20th century it was easy for skeptics to laugh off UFO sightings as the misidentification of aircraft in the sky. What they try to avoid is discussion about the many sightings of flying craft reported decades before humans had managed to get their first airplane even a few feet off the ground for a few seconds.

James Lumley was trapping in the wilderness approximately 175 miles north of the Upper Missouri River in the Great Falls area of Montana in September of 1864. One evening as he was returning to his camp, he saw a "bright luminous body in the heavens." The object was visible to him for about five seconds, heading in an easterly direction away from the sunset. The object then exploded in the sky and shortly afterward the sound of the craft's destruction reached his location, swiftly followed by a strong, sulfur smelling wind that tore through the forest.

The next day, Lumley's curiosity had him trekking up into the Cadotte Pass to see if he could find any remains of the strange flying object he had seen explode. He soon came upon a swath of destruction cutting a path through the trees ending at a cliff in the side of the mountain. He found a gigantic object made of what he thought of as a rock-like material driven into the stone. It was not a meteor, there were compartments exposed in the ripped open craft and what looked like glass scattered about. Mr. Lumley also reported seeing hieroglyphic looking symbols etched into the surface of the shattered hull.

Once he made it back to civilization, he told his tale and it was reported in the Missouri Democrat on October 19, 1865. The story spread from there and was carried in the Cincinnati Commercial just two weeks later. From there, the story of his sighting of the destruction and crash remains of this non-human object became widespread and fairly famous.

Also widely reported were sightings across a five-state swath of the Midwest some thirty years later. Between April 5th and the 19th of 1897 a wave of various types of UFO's were seem by thousands of witnesses. Beginning in Omaha, Nebraska, over a hundred people witnessed the flight of a shiny steel flying object reported to be over 12 feet long. A few days later citizens of Sioux City, Iowa were afforded the viewing of a cigar-shaped craft. In Cedar Rapids, Michigan and Burlington, their mysterious flying object presented glaring "headlights" along with a shiny steel hull. Witnesses reported it making a hissing sound as it passed overhead.

On the 10th, an elongated object with flashing red and green lights was seen over Chicago and Mount Carroll in Illinois. The same or a similar craft was seen all across Illinois. It would hover for awhile at around 500 foot before shooting off at extremely high speeds. One Chicago man, a newsstand vendor named Walter McCann, supposedly managed to take two pictures of the object but they quickly disappeared from public view and have not resurfaced in the past 100 years.

In Wausau, Wisconsin, on the same night, the people there were witness to an egg-shaped craft hovering over their City Hall. Thousands of people turned out to watch its lights shift back and forth in the sky over their city. By the 11th, the egg had been seen in both Minnesota and Indiana. By the 19th, it had managed to awe the people of Cochranville, Ohio and other areas of the state before finally departing, ending the spate of sightings witnessed by thousands of people.

There are many more reports of such strange and mysterious craft in the sky long before we managed to get our first flight off the ground. The people then knew they were seeing something not of our world or our knowledge. It would behoove everyone in today's modern world to remember, just because it is in the sky does not necessarily make it an airplane. There was no doubt of the reality of UFO's in the 19th century. 21st century man should take heed and keep their eyes to the sky for answers.

The investigation of UFO's and related phenomena can be undertaken in a variety of ways. While some seek to photograph or film these strange craft in the sky, others attempt to find physical evidence of other-worldly artifacts. One of the most important and influential seekers of physical evidence is Dr. Roger Leir, a California Podiatrist.

Dr. Leir is by no means a quack surgeon. He holds a Bachelor of Science, Associate in Arts, and Ph.D. of Podiatric Medicine. He is Board Certified by The National College of Foot Surgeons, The American Board of Podiatric Sports Medicine, The American Board of Foot Surgery, and The American Circulatory Society and the Society for Non-Invasive Vascular Technology. He has been in private practice in Ventura, California for over forty years. In that time he has performed fifteen surgeries on people referred to him that claim to be victims of alien abductions. These fifteen operations have garnered sixteen very suspicious objects that cannot be reconciled with any mere Earthly agency.

Dr. Leir has routinely had these objects tested by some of the most prestigious laboratories in the world including the University of Toronto, Seal Laboratories, York University, and Los Alamos National Labs. Some of the objects recovered from the unsuspecting bodies of these abductees have been shown to have metallurgical anomalies like highly metallic, non-crystalline Iron, Crystalline materials mixed with common metals, biological tissue growing into and out of the metallic objects and some with isotopic ratios impossible to find occurring naturally on this planet.

An example of the types of objects Dr. Leir has recovered would include the surgery he performed on August 19, 1995. He had been brought two patients by the hypno-anesthesia therapist and abduction researcher Derrel Sims of Houston, Texas. Despite operating with the patients working under local anesthesia, both patients had sharp pain reactions when the object was touched. According to Dr. Leir, the only way this can occur is if the objects were directly connected to nerves which carried a direct impulse past the anesthetized area. Another biological anomaly he pointed out is the lack of normal inflammatory tissue surrounding the objects but were instead covered with some sort of dense gray membrane his scalpel could not cut through.

Dr. Leir found early on that these objects tended to disintegrate or turn to powder once dried out so he developed a method of using the patient's own blood and plasma to hold the objects in during transportation to the laboratories for detailed analysis. It was found that the covering was composed of the iron oxygen-carrying pigment from red blood cells and keratin. What was most anomalous was that the coating was made from the victim's own bodily fluids and the objects encased before they were injected. Human science cannot do this. As Dr. Leir pointed out, if it were possible for Earth medicine to recreate this process the incidence of transplant rejection would cease to exist.

The object, when the coating was finally removed, turned out to be two shiny black metallic cylinders that were held in a "T" formation by the very coating that surrounded them. While keeping the origin of the object concealed from the lab technicians testing it, one of them stated, "Wow, you guys really found something here." It was not determined what metal or what function the object performed although Dr. Leir speculated that with the amount of anomalous nerve tissue within the coating it would most likely have been monitoring nerve action and physical condition of the body.

Dr. Leir does not just sit in the surgery. He has traveled extensively not only to investigate for more physical proof of alien presence but as an educated spokesman for the potential of extra-terrestrial presence on radio and television. he has appeared on shows as diverse as "UFO Hunters," "Hardcopy," "Tech TV," and the "X-Files." His radio appearances include "Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell," "The Jeff Rense Show," "Dreamland with Whitley Strieber," and "The Howard Stern Show." He has also been featured on radio and television in nearly a dozen countries around the globe and has been an invited speaker to the European division of the Society for Scientific Exploration in Paris. Dr. Leir is also a medical consultant for the Mutual UFO Network.

Despite the overwhelming evidence of UFO's and the potential extraterrestrial connection with them, it is a common experience to have questions about UFO's brushed off by government channels. The average citizen is aware that they will generally get nothing more than the usual run-around and "not a threat to national security" line. The question is, how high in government ranks must you be in order to get a straight answer about UFO/extraterrestrial information? History has shown that it must be higher than the highest office in the land; even Presidents get the run-around.

Shortly after the Roswell incident, Harry Truman appointed General Robert Landry to coordinate with the CIA to keep him updated on the UFO phenomena. Even after the 1952 UFO sightings over Washington, D.C. Mr. Truman had to admit to a reporter of the New York Times that, "Oh yes we discussed it with every confidence that we have with the military an' they never had been or never were able to give me a concrete report on the subject!"

President Dwight Eisenhower tried to avoid the subject of UFO's as much as possible despite being possibly the first of our Presidents to actually see one in 1952. There is also the persistent rumor that his mysterious Palm Springs vacation in 1954 was to meet with alien diplomats and the "dentist" story was a cover for his overnight disappearance from view. Either way, "Ike" didn't say.

John F. Kennedy also asked about UFO's after allegedly seeing a 60 foot metallic object flying around while he was sailing near Cape Cod. His public response when asked about what he had found out was the ubiquitous, "The US Air Force assures me that UFO's pose no threat to National Security."

As the Vice-President in 1961, Lyndon Johnson had advised a Ufologist that he might have better luck asking NASA about the phenomena than the military. By 1969 this advice may have been outdated as he was filmed and photographed in attendance with not only the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the head of NASA, James Webb, but also the Governor of Pennsylvania the day after the supposed joint recovery of a crashed UFO near Texburg, PA by NASA and the Airforce. Everyone else was left with rumor and speculation.

Richard Nixon had indicated a desire to go public with UFO information and had commissioned the TV producer Bob Emenegger to research and use data from the archives of Norton Airforce Base to create a documentary exposing the truth of the phenomena. This film was to include what has been reported as a landing by a UFO at Holloman Airforce Base. Somewhere down the line the project was assigned to limbo.

Before becoming President, Gerald Ford had urged Congress to investigate the UFO phenomena for itself although he and Congress were ultimately led to the notoriously biased conclusions of the Condon Committee Report. As President, Mr. Ford's inquiries always met with the same results as President Kennedy before him. All those who could have enlightened the topic merely stated that there was no threat to national security. It should be noted though that among his sources were his then advisers, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, while George H. Bush was head of the CIA.

Mr. Bush continued his policy of information denial with President Jimmy Carter. Carter had gone on record publicly that he had seen a UFO personally and wanted to find and disclose all the government had on the subject. Mr. Bush, still at the helm of the CIA, told him that the information was on a "need to know" basis and the mere curiosity of a President of the United States did not constitute a "need to know." Despite this stonewalling by those who were supposedly in positions subservient to the Supreme Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and the top Executive Officer of our country, Mr. Carter used the Freedom of Information Act to release a lot of UFO information and documentation. Roughly half of all the information available was made so during his Administration.

Ronald Reagan was another of our Chief Executive Officers who had witnessed UFO's in our skies. While he never disclosed whatever he may have discovered about the facts behind the phenomena, he did on numerous occasions make references to the possibility of alien existence and its potential repercussions on humanity. Bill Clinton was also interested but, as he answered a question about whether they had actually found alien bodies at Roswell, answered, "If the US Airforce did recover bodies they didn't tell me about it either."

President George H. Bush had already made his stance on what he felt people needed to know about UFO's abundantly clear while still Director of the CIA. His son, George W. Bush, obviously following his father's lead, made no comment while leaving it to his Vice President, Dick Cheney to provide this flippant response to a question about UFO information he might be aware of: "Well if I had been briefed on that I'm sure it would probably be classified and I wouldn't be able to talk about it!"

If the top power positions in our nation are not allowed to discuss the reality behind unknown craft that can come and go as they please, then who is it in a position of power above them that is issuing the planetary gag order? With the paranoia the military displays when even a small commercial aircraft wanders too close to restricted areas, how can the comings and goings of such mysterious craft as UFO's NOT be a concern of national security? If even our Presidents can be told to mind their own business about the UFO phenomena, how can we not feel there is a grave danger lurking behind the secrecy surrounding their origins and purpose with Planet Earth and its inhabitants?

The possibility of the existence of extraterrestrial life is really exciting indeed and there is little wonder that so many of us love watching sci-fi movies and reading stories about UFOs and alien abductions, regardless if we believe in them or not.
